How to paint an owl...
I'm taking an online course... painting the backgrounds was fun and messy... drawing the owls was a different story. These are a work still in progress.

Liberate your art postcard swap - received my first postcard!
Kat Sloma's liberate your art postcard swap. 254 artists from around the world signed up to participate in the sharing of their images/art on a printed postcard. Each participant sent 5 postcards to Kat, who then collected, organized and distributed them back out into the world. We will all receive 5 postcards in the mail from fellow "SWAPPERS" and one from Kat.
This was a great project... Thanks Kat for all the fun!
This postcard is from Brenda Gottsabend from how to feather an empty nest. She likes to repeat elements in her photographs to create a different reality... her alternate world.

After the party...
First journal for Kat eye view "Find Your Eye" photo course. Why I love photography?
It started about 28 years ago with the birth of my first child. I didn't want to miss a thing... so photography was a way of DOCUMENTING my life. I have three kids, the youngest is 24 and all are out of the house:( So, my LOVE and PASSION for photography went into a different direction. It was more about creating something that makes me HAPPY, to stop and take notice, to capture an image, capture the beauty, and capture a moment in time that would normally go unnoticed by others. I love this shot because I found a BEAUTIFUL MESS after the guests had gone home.

this little piggy...
at the Santa Barbara County Fair. I love to go just to see the baby piggies. Ted has to drag me away so that others can take a peek also. Mom had 16 in the litter, laid down on 6 of them, now there are 10.
