May in Blue...

This month seemed to be a favorite for a lot of us, blue was full of inspiration, calm, serenity and beauty.  Take a look at all the wonderful creations at EVARICCISTUDIO.  You might just get inspired yourself.
Now on to the perfect color for June and summer... mellow yellow!

Backyard birds

We have been watching the dove's building their nest, sitting on their eggs(they leave and keep a close eye on me when I'm taking pictures), and now hatched.  They are almost too big for the nest.  The mom and dad feed them from a nearby branch.  It was great to see each step.

LIBERATE YOUR ART POSTCARD SWAP

This is my third year participating in Kat Sloma's Liberate your art postcard swap.  Another fun year and the talent is off the wall AWESOME!!!  I just checked out the video and there are so many postcards I had not seen roll through facebook or instagram... I would love to trade with each of you!  Here are my postcards together for 2013... I had fun photographing them individually and finding that perfect spot for each.  Thank you all.
Star trails from Pam Bowers.  Painted teacups from the talented Tracey Fletcher King.  A beautiful mess from Teresa Harrington Hazelbaker.  Be positive and believe, lake view from Angela Swan.  "Grace" from Wil Conway of Dover, NH.  And, "Adorned and Alone" By our host, Kat Sloma.   Check out Janice Darby for a full post on all the postcards I have received, bonus cards included.

I made extra postcards for anyone who wanted to continue the swap, it's too fun not too!  These are the first few I have received...

I love them all...thank you all for making the swap last a little longer.
These are the last few postcards I have received.  The top postcard is from Pam Parker in Australia with a view from her door... gorgeous!  Pam also sent along an information page about her home town of Wellington and some really awesome stamps, what a treasure!
The Eiffel Tower comes from Deanie, she will be making a return visit in September, can I go with you?  I would love to see this in person.  Thanks Deanie, I will look at it and dream...!
The last postcard is from Maria, she sent a second, unexpected, sweet surprise... "find the beautiful", I do every time I look at her work.  I have been a follower and admirer of her work since Picture Summer 2010.  Thanks Maria, this will find a special place in my home.
Thank you all for the beautiful postcards.  Thank you Kat for hosting a third year, what an awesome event!  Thank you to her helpers, I'm sure your hard work was very much appreciated.  Looking forward to the next LIBERATE YOUR ART swap event.

Postcards from       year one(2011) and                                                    year two(2012)

Postcard #6

From Kat Sloma, she has held the "Liberate your art" postcard swap event for the third year and I have participated in each years swap thus far.  I love getting the "happy mail" in my mailbox and it's sad to have this event come to an end... so a few of us are continuing to trade our art with the extra postcards we have, as of right now I have sent out 8 extras and will post them as they come in.
Thanks Kat for all your hard work putting this event together and all the wonderful artists who join in... looking forward to next year!

Postcard #5

"Grace"  Original is acrylic on canvas paper 16x12
This painting figures prominently in the novel, The Beautiful Life of Bethesda Bloom. (2012) by Will Conway of Dover, NH.
It is the story of a woman who faces the daunting task of giving birth to herself after her comfortable life is shattered by lies and deceit.
His message is... "Best wishes on your won art-- whatever form it takes."
Thanks Will

Agricultural greenhouse tents

are popping up all over the Central Coast.  I recently went on a field trip with the Santa Maria Camera Club to the Nipomo greenhouse tour.  I had to leave before the tour was over and heard I missed the most beautiful flowers... here are a few of the ones I did see.

52 colors with Eva Ricci

A year long of photographing one color for each month, I am loving this project, April was white and here is my collage.

Comes from Angela Swan, she writes, " Worry is the darkroom where negatives are developed, Be positive and BELIEVE."
Photos by Angie,"We take a step, then we stumble.  The joy out of life is when we make a dance out of both"  ~Rich Turner

POSTCARD #1...

I am taking part in Kat Sloma's LIBERATE YOUR ART postcard exchange again.  This is my third year participating.  I love this piece of the Star Trails in Joshua Tree by Pamela Bowers Photography.  She writes:
Teach me your mood, O patient stars.  Who climb each night the ancient sky.  Leaving on space no shade, no scars, no trace of age, no fear to die.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thanks Pam, check out her work @ www.kassiesbeach.com
